The AI-Native CTO

A Shahid Shah Fieldbook

AI does not make technical judgment cheaper. It makes judgment the scarce input, and it moves the technology executive from best engineer in the room to the person who orchestrates machines, teams, and customers toward outcomes.

This Fieldbook assembles the theories I am testing about AI-era engineering with the operating practice that goes with them: how to start an AI program inside workflows customers already use, how senior officials should set roadmaps, what changes in the CTO's own week, and why keeping the people you have matters more than the hiring funnel once the machines are doing the typing.

Forming. 10 published pieces are feeding this Fieldbook. When the argument holds end to end, it gets consolidated and substantially expanded into a single work.
