The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium invited me to speak and moderate panels across several years. The audience was mostly sitting CIOs, which changes the conversation. You cannot hand wave.
The panels
What we argued about
Two panels stand out. One was on healthcare innovation through information and process redesign. The other was on moving from digital silos to a digital care enterprise.
Both came down to the same thing. Most healthcare organizations had digitized their existing processes and called it transformation. The harder work, redesigning the process itself, was still ahead of them. A decade later, a lot of it still is.
